Christoph Plutzar

Christoph is biologist, social ecologist and he holds an academic training in Geographic Information Systems. He was involved in several national and international research projects working at and with different universities, institutions and NGOs, e.g. the University of Vienna, the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) and the WWF. In the year 2004 he was one of the founder members of the Vienna Institute for Nature Conservation and Analyses. Since 2008 he works at the Institute of Social Ecology (Alpen-Adria-University Klagenfurt-Wien-Graz), working in the area “Land Use and Colonization of Ecosystems”.

The main focus of his work is on handling spatially explicit research questions with GIS, especially in the topics land use, biodiversity and nature conservation.
